Bengan Ka Bhurta |
The traditional
flavour in this dish is obtained by roasting the eggplant
over a fierce charcoal fire. As this is not always posible,
the same result can be obtain by placing eggplants over a
flame or under a grill.
Ingredients:
2-3 - medium-sized eggplants
2-3 medium potatoes, peeled
1 - onions, skinned, and chopped
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1\4 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
2 tablespoons coriander, fresh, chopped
2-3 - green chillies, chopped
How to Cook:
1. Spike each eggplant with a fork and roast over the flame
or place under a grill to char the skin. Turn eggplants a
few times to make sure that the skin is completely charred.
2. Put the hot eggplant in a bowl of water and remove the
skin. Discard the stalk and finely chop the flesh. Cut
potatoes into small dices and keep them in cold water.
3. Heat oil in a heavy based pan and stirring frequently,
fry onions until soft. Add ginger, garlic chili powder,
salt, coriander powder, garam masala and turmeric to onions.
Stir fry for about 3-4 minutes, add a little water if
mixture sticks to the bottom of the pan.
4. Add tomatoes and stirring frequently, fry the onion
mixture for about 5-8 minutes or until the tomatoes are
reduced to a pulp. Add a little water, to prevent it from
sticking to the bottom of the pan. Keep frying until oil
begin to separate.
5. Drain potatoes and add to sauce. Stir well. Add 1\2 cup
of water, stir once and reduce heat to low. Cover with a
tight fitting lid, and cook until potatoes are almost
tender.
6. Add chopped eggplant, green chilies and chopped
coriander. Cover and cook for 3-5 minutes on low heat, add a
little water, if necessary.
Serve with plain yogurt and Chapati or Nan
This recipe serves 6 people.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes.
Cooking Time: 30 minutes.

Ulcer gels warning for
children
|
David Pruce of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society:
'Parents shouldn't be worried at all'
Mouth ulcer and teething treatments containing
salicylate salts should not be used by children
under the age of 16, UK experts have said.
There is a theoretical risk that these products
could cause a serious condition called Reye's
syndrome.
But the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory
Agency (MHRA) said the advice was only
precautionary.
The main products affected are Bonjela and Bonjela
Cool Mint Gel, but Bonjela Teething Gel is not
affected.
Salicylate salts have the same effect on the body as
aspirin, which experts have already warned should
not be used by children.
The MHRA has received reports of three children
being hospitalised after using oral gels containing
choline salicylate.
However, Reye's syndrome was not confirmed in any of
the cases.
In a further four cases children experienced
vomiting or diarrhoea after using Bonjela for
teething pain, but all made a full recovery.
The MHRA stressed there were a number of alternative
treatments for pain associated with teething and
mouth ulcers.
It advised parents to seek advice from a GP, dentist
or pharmacist if unsure what to do.
Dr June Raine, MHRA director of vigilance and risk
management of medicines, said the new advice brings
these products into line with others containing
aspirin.
She said: "Any risk from these oral gel products is
theoretical. We are not aware of any confirmed
cases, but when there are alternatives available,
any risk is not worth taking."
Remote risk
David Pruce, of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of
Great Britain (RPSGB) stressed the risk was purely
theoretical. "There is a very remote risk for young
children using this product and it is always best to
err on the side of caution. "There are other
products on the
market which have the same soothing effect, but
which do not contain salicylate salts and are
therefore safe to use on children younger than 16."
Reye's syndrome is a rare but potentially fatal
disease that causes damage to many of the body's
organs.
In particular it causes swelling of the brain, and
problems with fat in the liver.
The initial symptoms include persistent vomiting,
listlessness, loss of energy, and drowsiness.
Without treatment this can progress to extreme
irritability, agitation, delirium, and coma. Most
children who have developed Reye's syndrome were
recovering from a viral infection, usually either
flu or chickenpox, and had taken aspirin to treat
their symptoms. A statement from Reckitt Benckiser,
which makes Bonjela, said it had redesigned
packaging to make it easier for consumers to choose
the right gel.
Bonjela is designed to relieve the pain and swelling
caused by mouth ulcers, denture sores and brace
sores.
Bonjela Cool does the same thing but is formulated
as a cool mint gel.
Bonjela Teething Gel for young children contains a
different formula and is unaffected.

Dear Zohra,
first of all thank you so much for liking GupShup. Please
note that soon we will have more programs coming up 100%
created and presented by CP community within KSA. You are
most welcome to produce your program. As we always say in
our programs that producing an audio webcast does not
require you to have a studio or professional hardware. Use
the same Microphone that you use for online chatting/net
calls with any audio recording software. That's all you need
to become proud owner of your own RCP call sign. Like
GupShup is release by RCP Studio One. RCP S1 is my home and
it is my call sign. If you start a program from your home
then you will have a call sign as well which will be some
thing like RCP S2 or S3… Any program that you wish to
produce would require you to initially produce a pilot which
will be approved by our content management and once it is
approved you will start producing your programs. The Pilot
program requires a recorded version of at least 10 mins.
along with it we require an email explaining the format of
the program and motive. Any new program can have a 30
minutes play time on RCP which can increase to 1 hour if
needed.

which may harm in any sense or in any case, it's important
to every individual to be aware of such thing which may harm

Today, technology is growing very fast. Everyone is familiar
and adopting use to electronic resources, internet, for
communications, for news, for information etc
Being an Information Security Officer, i'd like to highlight
an issue which i found from my friend, who escaped from
being victim of such attack in which attacker/hacker would
steal their Hotmail id
and password.
Firstly, look at
the sender address/From, which is
onlineaccountsurvey@gmail.com
, why would HOTMAIL use gmail account to survey Hotmail's
user. Ofcourse, this is really good act from attacker/hacker
to send such kind of e-mail, to attract user's attention in
order to prevent spam e-mails, so they need to verify your
hotmail account by visiting the following weblink (Click
here to verify your account). After you'll click on that
particular link, it will ask your hotmail id/password. As
you'll enter your information (hotmail id/passowrd) that
information will be sent to attacker/hacker hiddenly, and
you'll get error message that page can not be found or
server is down or any good error message which will NOT let
user know that he/she has not become VICTIM.
The question arise here, Why HOTMAIL would not send e-mail
from HOTMAIL? Why gmail? Because hotmail's security features
are good and somehow it will detect and on updated internet
browser, it will alert you also.
Users have often told us that the more they use Hotmail, the
more they discover its benefits. So go ahead and give it a
try. We'll keep working on making Hotmail the best email
service around. We appreciate joining us for the ride.
So, i'll advise to everyone that DO NOT open any
advertisement e-mail, any attachment in e-mail from unknown
sender. Also, when you open e-mail to read, kindly view
sender address if it's valid address.
For home users especially, use up-to-date anti-virus
software, and do not visit any website which attracts you
for nothing and later asking your personal information,
especially your bank details. Please be advised, not to
download any software from any un-authenticated website, as
these are major facts to invite spams, ad-wares, viruses
into your computer. Hence, If you are aware, you will defend
to prevent.

Done ...!
Assalam-O-Alaikum
Summers are
approaching fast and for some it is already pretty hot. The
scorching heat from sun seems to parch everything. It is
important for us to avoid sun exposure especially in
afternoons and take all steps necessary to avoid sun stroke.
I am visiting my home country these days. Last week, father
asked our gardener to dig a hole to plant a tree near the
gate. The gardener dug it. When in evening, dad returned
from office, we discussed the placement of the tree and
agreed that it would not be suitable here and it shall be
planted a little farther towards the other end of the
garden. So when the gardener came the next day, he was told
to fill the pit back. The poor gardener started doing as
instructed. But after sometimes, he rang our bell to ask for
dad saying that he has filled the ditch but there is a mound
on the top. The mud seemed not to get packed in the hole
from which it had just been dug a day before.
Later at night, when this problem was taken up at the dinner
table, grandfather had a lesson for us. He said today what
we saw is an example that illustrates that there are many
things in life that cannot be undone once they are done. You
can’t just make everything exactly as before after you have
done something with it. The gardener dug the pit, but when
he tried to fill it up, he fails to make it look as it was
before. One may attempt to repair the damage, but he can’t
do it without leaving scars. That’s true with all our
actions. When we hurt someone, we leave a scar no matter how
many times we apologize. Gossiping and disgracing someone,
spreading wrong information, saying harsh words, being
unkind… all are deeds that leave a permanent tarnish. Just
like an arrow once shot is gone, so are deeds- once done,
they cannot be undone. Word editors in this technological
world may have ‘Undo’ option but life doesn’t. One has to be
careful and thoughtful, before performing an action. So my
fellows, look before you leap, and think before you speak.
